   First primary school ‘’St. St. Cyril and Methodius” is located in the center of the town .It is over a hundred and fifty years old. The teachers are 55 and they are all experienced and qualified. That’s why students and their parents prefer our school. Students receive a great education and win races and competitions organized by the Bulgarian Ministry of Education. There are over 653 students. They are too many for our small building. Children from second, third and fourth grade study in the afternoon and the others in the morning. The number of students in a class is about 24. Subjects fall into the following major areas of content: Bulgarian language and literature, Foreign languages, Mathematics, Information technologies, social sciences, natural sciences, Music, Art, sports. Students from grades 1 through 8 normally spend half a day in school; the other half is dedicated to homework and independent study at home. In elementary school and sometimes in pre secondary school exists an option called "extended care" for students to spend the other half of the day in school working on their lessons under the control of a teacher.
   Students study from Monday to Friday. For students from first, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth classes school day normally begins at 8:00 a.m. and finishes at 1 o`clock. For students from second, third and fourth classes school starts at 1:30 and finishes at 6 o`clock. In their free time students attend extracurricular activities like sports, music, theater, art.
The school is well equipped with audiovisual aids and technical appliances. Teachers and students are open to new techniques, methods, and information exchange.
  This project will help pupils and teachers to acquire and improve different skills - teamwork, social relations, using information and communication technologies. Participating in a partnership with schools from different countries will give students the opportunity to practice foreign languages and increase their motivation towards language learning. First primary school "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" believes that working with teachers and pupils from other countries will provide an unique opportunity to exchange methods, experience and examples of the best practice.
